This publication consists of 3 parts. The first part contains data on the basic situation from all households and the second part on the additional items. The third part provides relevant regulations and technical documents concerning the census as annexes.Explanatory Notes
The 2000 Population Census covered all persons who hold the nationality of, and have permanent residing place in the PRC. During the census, each person was numerated in his/her permanent residing place.Two types of questionnaires (long and short form) were used for the census. The sort form contains items that reflect the basic situation of the population, while the long form include all short form items plus other items. Households selected by a random sampling program completed the long forms and the rest of the households completed the short forms.
Annexes are attached to facilitate proper use of information, including major figures of the servicemen, communiques of major figures of the 2000 Population Census, the explanation on filling the census questionnaire, the procedures for the selection of samples for the long form, etc.Detailed Table of Contents (pdf, 8p, 297 KB)
