As the cradle of Chinese civilization, the Yellow River is called the "Mother River" in China. The industrious and brave Chinese ancestors already worked and lived there, creating a splendid ancient culture, when most places in the world were still not civilized.
Mountains dominate in its upper and middle reaches, while plains and hills prevail in the middle and lower reaches. The large amount of mud and sand the river carried makes it the most sediment-ladden river on the earth.
