As a teaching material both in Chinese and English, this book is initiated and compiled by the Chinese Medicine Researching Department of the Peking Union Medical College. The contents are selected from the blueprint of ""Chinese Medical Science"" published by the Beijing Union Medical University Press. The author tries his utmost to incorporate the ideology of combining the western medicine with the Chinese medicine as well as the relevant contents supporting the concept. It intends to make the students learn and master the thinking way of the Chinese medicine which is totally different from the western medicine, as well as learn the basic knowledge and theories, Chinese herbs and prescriptions of the Chinese medicine.
